Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union (AACFCU) has established a Youth Council that is comprised of today’s high school juniors and seniors. Applications are now being accepted for the 2012-2013 Youth Council. The applicant must be a junior or senior at an area high school and a member of Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union. If a student wishes to apply and is not currently a member, they are welcome to join AACFCU by opening a savings account and then applying for a Youth Council seat.

 

Applications will be reviewed and potential candidates selected for interview. Interviews will be conducted with the applicants that AACFCU is interested in promoting to Youth Council members. The number of members on a Youth Council will vary by geographic area and the amount of interest from that area.

 

Youth Council members will meet every six weeks on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 pm for approximately 1 hour. The goal will be to allow them to learn about the credit union/banking industry as well as get their feedback on what today’s youth is looking for in financial services. We would require them to work with AACFCU on one community service project and we will support their school in a community service project.

 

The council will be held from October 2012 to May 2013. The student will receive a certificate upon completion of their Youth Council duties.
